Overall it was a great weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park! After driving through the night and catching some Z’s when I got home, I am now already in race mode for Barber Motorsports in Birmingham this coming weekend.

This past Friday at the track was mixed conditions of a mostly dry surface with a few puddles/streams to keep any rider on their toes. We qualified 4th in Q1 but we knew that the faster qualifying times would be Saturday morning in the dry. During qualifying on Saturday the team worked awesome to make some good changes to get the bike set up.

Unfortunately, with about seven minutes left to go in qualifying, I had a crash coming out of the last turn coming onto the straightaway which left us only able to qualify 8th on the grid. In Race 1 I made a few mistakes on the first lap which led to a very lonely race by myself in which I finished 7th. On Sunday we made some more changes which definitely helped and got a much better start which left me able to battle for 6th place with Jackson Blackmon.

I managed to run my best times all weekend in that battle and got down to a 1:27.9. Unfortunately I burnt myself out and fell off the pace pretty quickly, which led me to ending up 8th place at the end of the race. I am still very thankful for the results this weekend and going back to the drawing board so I can be ready for Barber Motorsports this coming weekend!
